What was your inspiration for this book?
I read a story in the newspaper about an older lady who lived on the outskirts of Hot Springs. She had no family, and when she died authorities found boxes in her attic that had the tiny bones of babies. Nobody knew how or why the babies had been put there, and I immediately wanted to answer that question for myself.

Why did you decide to produce an audiobook?
The audiobook was a natural choice for me, following the paperback and ebook. People read in all kinds of ways now, and audio is a big part of enjoying good fiction. I listen to a lot of books and have come to know how satisfying that can be.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
Red Rose Audio contacted me because they have a reader who is from Arkansas. Chloe Adele did an amazing job with the accents and the different voices.
