If you are a fan of Psychic Detective Mysteries, you will love Walk-In Investigations, Streaming Sarah. It’s like Ghost Whisperer meets Fringe.
Dying was the break she needed…
Or so she thought. Homicide Detective Katie Hanson prided herself on being an advocate for the dead. She had no idea dying would take that to an entirely new level. When she returns home from the hospital after a near-death experience, she realizes the door to the spirit world remained open… wide open. Now she hears voices, sees things that are not there. These aren’t any voices. The murder victims of her Department’s cold cases are haunting her. As Katie navigates the waters of being a medium, she discovers her skills go beyond channeling murder victim Sarah Alexander’s account of her horrific murder and the murder of her two children, much more. Katie finds that she is also able to see through dimensions into a parallel world. Katie receives unexpected help with her current case from her doppelgänger P-Kate. With the aid of P-Kate, she learns to stream Sarah’s consciousness, her memories, her very soul.
Katie thinks channeling Sarah will close out her cold case in record time. She is dead wrong. Things are not what they seem. It made matters worse. Now she has two suspects. Nothing about the investigation is clear-cut. It turns out that a dead person’s memory of the events can be as flawed as the living. The testimony does not match the evidence. She wants to believe the deceased, but the evidence doesn’t support the account. Will Sarah help Katie bring the killer to justice, or will they drag in an innocent man?

What was your inspiration for this book?
I had the idea for the book bouncing around in my head for a few years. Once I put pen to paper or rather fingers to the keyboard it took about one year. I had no idea how to write a novel, so I joined a few writing groups and read everything I could put my hands on about the art of writing and building characters. I had an amazing team of friends, family, and co-workers as test readers to help me work out the kinks. I think that took the longest time.
The plot seemed to write itself. The idea that parallel universes can interact with ours intrigued me. I thought of all the parallel world shows I watched growing up and wondered what if a fragment of ourselves from a parallel world could interact with us and give us signs and guidance on making the right choices for our greatest unfoldment or the greatest good of society. I have a love of mysteries and crime shows. My television is almost always on forensic files. I thought it would be amazing if a homicide detective could reach out to her parallel counterpart to receive clues on solving her cold case and the story was born.
Why did you decide to produce an audiobook?
I am a fan of audible. With busy lives, it's a great way to reach readers in another way. Melinda Wade, Sarah's audio narrator, did a great job bringing the characters in the book to life.
How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
I put in a request for auditions and listened to each one a few times. I posted samples on Facebook and my website to get fan feedback. Melinda Wade won hands down.
If you have listened to this book let us know what you think in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
