What was your inspiration for this book?
I had the idea for this series in my head for a while and Victor is book one in a series of books where Vampires are hit by a deadly thirst so rare that it's almost unheard of. I played around with it for a wee while until I had a few stories of my own ready to write – I like to know I have more than one 'set to go' before I sit down to start – then I invited other authors to write in the 'world' too. I love Victor's reaction when he's first struck with the Thirst because he's always in control, but that goes out of the window when a Vampire is taken over by the overwhelming desires and need to feed when the Thirst strikes, and he's no exception.

Why did you decide to produce an audiobook?
I wanted to bring the story to others who don't just read but listen too. I know there are lots of people who do that, and several reached out to me asking when I was going to bring my stories out in audio, so I decided to take the plunge so to speak.

How did you choose the reader for the book and the production company?
I asked other authors which production company they used and a lot of them used ACX so I went over to check them out. Then I put Victor up for auditions – and then I started to get a lot of people sending me recordings and one stood out above the rest … Jason Hill. He's amazing and I knew straight away he was the one I wanted to do all of my Vampire's Thirst books. He's done Victor and Flint, and he'll be doing Quinn soon.
